Start early, start right. Start with SAPRIS!

Adjusting to college study in a new country, culture, and even language can be challenging.  The Summer Academic Program for Rensselaer International Students (SAPRIS) is a seven-week program to help our school’s accepted first-year students from around the world learn and use the stronger communication skills needed for college success.

This optional program enables participants to settle into Rensselaer with a combination of coursework, on-campus living, and regional field trips. SAPRIS students participate in a four-credit course titled English for Academic Communication which is taught by Rensselaer faculty from the Department of Communication & Media. Participants have the chance to build connections with each other, returning students, Rensselaer faculty, and professional staff.

SAPRIS participants will:

A single SAPRIS fee covers just about everything

from your arrival on July 5 or 6, to just before you start Student Orientation 5 (SO5) on August 20. This fee includes: tuition, housing, food, health insurance, other required charges, and cost of field trips except for personal-choice items. For Summer 2019, the fee is $13,200 (USD). Of that, $9,000 is the tuition for your first 4-credit Rensselaer course.
